My genre is Erotica Fiction, Romance. What drew me to this genre is that I’m very sensual, compassionate and I have a great awareness of my body as a woman. Most of all, I am a lover of love.
Can you describe the story in one or two sentences for our readers?
A chemistry between a man and woman which is the replica of an exothermic explosion.
Tell us the story behind the story. What influenced you to write it and how long did it take you?
I was in a tumultuous fabricated marriage. We presented as the Cosby Show to the world however we were the PJ’s behind closed doors. I knew it was unhealthy yet I believed or at least I kept telling myself it was best for my kids. I found out later it was worst thing I could do. Once my divorce was final, I decided not to get involved in a dating relationship and chose a lover instead. He inspired me to write. I thanked him for inspiring me and supporting me, in his own words… His reply was “No need to thank me for preexisting glows, destined journeys coordinated by God not fate, I just encouraged you not to wait, take it in your hands and not mine.” How can I not be moved by his graciousness and kindness?
I started the book February 8th and it should completed by end of April. I was in rehearsal and starred in the play Vagina Monologues on March 26th, so I am little behind.
Give us an insight into your main character. What does he/she do that is so special?
She finds out it is ok to be weak, it adds to her beauty. Submission is to be a cherished and revered. It is not the world’s view of being run over like Edith Bunker. To the right man, it is the ultimate gift under the Gift of Salvation.
Is there a part of you in any of the characters?
The passion of the main character is me. She is made in my image of sexuality, love, fierce, feisty sassy self. With a pinch of a Dominican friend of mine.
If you assigned an actor/actress to the characters in your novel, who would they be?
Taraji P. Henson for Sequoia Arias (Main Female Character)
Slade Bayou-Michael Jai White
Do you have a favorite book or art that inspires you?
Their Eyes Were Watching God. It is a story spun from pure gold love.
When did you decide to become a writer?
Last year, just kept pushing it off.
How do you find the time to write?
In the middle of the night, early morning. I work from home. So I take breaks to type a chapter.
What are you working on right now?
I am working on a greeting card business with my best friend and a book of poetry.
